Remembrance Day: March 21, 2021

We are commemorating on March 21 the one-year anniversary of PACE keeping our community connected virtually during a pandemic.

You are invited to contribute in electronic form: text, audio and/or video [still and/or motion] any kind of commemoration of "Remembrance, Loss, Love, and Resilience" meaningful to you.

If your contributions can't be emailed, just contact me and I can help digitize them. It is pretty easy to shoot a video clip with your phone, then we can work together to add it here.

Send any contributions by email to    dcj@acm.org    and I will post them here.

Elaine Riggs: The phrase below has inspired and prompted me into a deeper relationship with God.
In the silence I have experienced His presence, His peace, and a greater ability to surrender to His plan.
Praising God in all things  =  joy! logo

Linda and Vic Morin: The photos below show some of the things we did this year. logo

Brenda and Russ Simmonds:

  • We remember our first PACE Zoom class and how liberating and refreshing it was to see special friends, to hear them talk, and realize that we were not as isolated as we thought. And to this day we still look forward to "circle time".
  • We remember and salute Nelson Cain and David Johnson for all their efforts to bring us Zoom and to maximize its potential. Zoom has been an incredible bonding agent for our class over the past 12 months.
  • On a secular note, we soon discovered that we could Zoom with our distant families and this helped bridge our self-imposed travel ban and start new traditions.

The Wisnewskis: These photos illustrate our COVID year. The Left photo shows our "Bubble" of close family who the only ones we were able to interact with & support throughout the pandemic. The Center and Right photos show the mothers we lost one year apart during the month of January. Our grief has been profound. logo

John Estill: This is my COVID Year Impression. The two portraits are older victims that I knew personally that died from COVID. logo

Nancy Hagberg: Things that helped me cope with the 2020 isolation:
    1. Being able to see/hear the members of Pace class on Zoom. It helped me feel connected to people, if only virtually. We could also grow from our programs.
    2. I so enjoyed meeting with the ladies from Pace class on Friday mornings at the church parking lot. Seeing people meant a lot!

Floy Rorie: When the pandemic affected so much of our lives, many people expressed their feelings of loss at not being able to attend our physical church. I found the song "My Church" by accident when preparing the lesson "You Are Loved More Than You Will Ever Know." This fun, yet meaningful, song has sustained me often times over the past year.

Chris Alexander: I enjoyed getting back into watercolors with the spare time provided by the pandemic. logo

Jim Alexander: The theme of this Yo-Yo Ma video is "CultureConnectsUs". I could not agree more. Music, like love, is universal.

David Johnson: Here are 2 anthems that have brought me peace during COVID:
